RE: Been a great summer so far...

we had a great beginning to the summer getting out camping every weekend. Though since I had a total knee replacement on aug 4th. we have been. I was hoping that I would be able to camp the last two weeks of recovery. I am not sure that will happen but as of yet I am not giving up hope. I hope everybody enjoys the rest of the summer.

RE: Loading up for trip

We have a 1997 jayco 1207 we are able to access the fridge when it is not popped up. We plug in the fridge the morning before we leave for a trip and then the morning we leave we fill the fridge. Since there are only two of us the fridge is usually enough for a long weekend. Sometimes a cooler is needed for the beer.

RE: Please talk me into going from trailer to PUP

I agree with scpopupcamper. We also have a pop up and I am camping due to my love of being outdoors. You get that feeling in a pop up. Someone mentioned not having accessability to put gear in the pop up. We have a jayoo 1207 and put all our gear in the pop-up while it is down, plus fill the fride. Nothing to take out of the tv when we get where we are going. I love my pop-up!!!

RE: Questions about making the beds.

We use a fitted and a flat sheet plus the down comforter. Very cozy and warm. I do it the same way pete described, the bed isn,t as neatly made as possible but it works for us. Enjoy camping.

RE: Porta-pot or not?

We have a cassette porta potti, and since it is just the two of us we use it. I wake up at least once a night to go and I don't walk well so this is a big convenience for me. We are not usually to far from the cg bathrooms but at night I hate going out by myself. The porta potti is very easy to clean and I have never noticed a smell.

RE: Anyone cancelling trips due to gas prices?

No, we will not be cancelling any trips this summer due to gas prices. I hope to get out more this summer than we did last. I am hoping for every weekend. Though they wont be more than an hour or two ride away.

RE: Can you make cilantro flakes?

Try penzeys.com, I bought a small container of cilantro at their store. I would think they sell it on line also.

RE: Tires for a 1994 Jayco 1207

Thanks all for your help. I am going to buy the tires at the local trailer store. The clerk told me that she had 6 ply tires but thanks to you I also understand that load rating is important. I am also planning on picking up a floor jack. I will look and see if I need the whole wheel assembly but I was told I might not need it. I will let you know how it goes as I have never really attempted anything like this before.

Tires for a 1994 Jayco 1207

Hi I need to get new tires for my Jayco 1207. I am not sure what size to get. The tires that are currently on it are are not the same tire or size. Can anyone tell me what size tires they have on their 1994 jayco 1207 or what size I need.
My husband and I are going to try and change them ourselves. Any advice on doing this and what type of jack I need. Thanks in advance.

RE: Are Your Spices too Old?

My spices are not old. Those that I don't use much of I just buy a little at the bulk grocer. Those that I use a lot of I buy a lot of and replace it often.

RE: New England campgrounds

We enjoy some of the state parks in Massachusettes, Wompatuck and Massasoit. Large sites and quiet campgrounds. Kids will have to entertain themselves as there are no activities for them. Though Wompatuck is only about ten minutes from Nantasket beach. A very nice beach.

oklahoma city, Oklahoma

Hi, my son is thinking of camping for eight weeks in this area as he will be going to school there for the faa. I am wondering what the weather is like in December and January for that part of the country and will he need heat? Can you suggest any good parks that he could camp at in a pop up. He is a only 23 and it will be him by himself. I don't really think he will be looking for the attractions just a clean place with clean bathrooms and safe. Any ideas will be appreciated.

RE: Dining Areas

ours runs parallel to the short side of the camper, and works quite well for us. There is enough space as there is only two of us. We decided not to go with any slide outs as we didnt really need all that extra space.

whole trout

I saw a whole trout in the fish store the other day, and wanted to try it but wasn't sure what to do about the head being attached. I have never cooked a fish like that. Any ideas on a good way to do that?

RE: What if you got injured ?

Since we put it up and down together, I am sure my dh could take it down and put away the pup by himself. He knows how to hitch it to our tow vehicle. The only thing is he doesn't do is drive, so he cant tow it home, I would have to drive if not, I am sure someone from my large family would help us with that.

RE: starting the furnace on a jayco 1207

the pop up is a 1996. We didn't hear the ignitor sparking to light, so I guess it needs to go to the shop and have them look at it. Thanks to all who responded I appreciate your help.
